Zbonics

Zbonics is the unique musical expression of Zak Najor, original drummer for the Greyboy Allstars. After many years in the making, this album catalogues the many different rhythmic, melodic, and harmonic influences Zak and co. have found inspiriation from. Co-written, recorded, produced and mixed by Brian Teel at 4 Track Mind Studios, this album was recorded with live instrumentation on organic instruments, authentic to the 70’s funk genre and true to its sound. No sampling or sequencing was used.  Song topics range from life’s lessons to the frustration of relationships.  One of the funkiest drummers on the west coast, Zak’s groove and feel do not disappoint.  “More Beets” features performances by fellow Greyboy Allstars members Karl Denson (Vocals, Saxophone, Fender Rhodes), Chris Stillwell (Bass, Electric Guitar), and Robert Walter (Clavinet), as well as a host of other talented San Diego-based musicians.
